AUD specs increasing short positions - Westpac

FXStreet (Guatemala) - Sean Callow, analyst at Westpac Banking Corporation, noted that the CFTC’s weekly report showed a notable extension of speculative AUD shorts.

Key Quotes:

"Non-commercial accounts increased AUD net shorts from -61.5k to -76.9k, a fractionally more aggressive stance since Aug 2013 and thus a record short on this measure."

"On the new classification, leveraged funds increased their net shorts from -46.5k to -53.8k, the most since 4 Feb 2014."

"Asset managers squared up slightly to -15k. Elsewhere, the report showed the usual appetite for USD, particularly against EUR."

NZD/USD demand takes the bird off 0.7320 support
